Charming, Graceful, Agile. All serve to describe this young lady. Often a duality in personalities, she can be quiet and shy or energetic and engaging. Kind of heart and always looking to do what she believe in her heart to be right. Often seen as a little odd. Staring off into the vast emptiness as she contemplates the stars and the endless possibilities of life and existence. This often leads her to seem detached and perhaps a little insane when first approached.

Character History & Description:
From across the waters she travels. Hailing from the white desert sands. Her pass as mysterious as the stars themselves. Many Rumors of her origins circulate. A traveling performer? A nomadic princess? An escaped slave? In fact, she is a run away noble's daughter. Perhaps a kin to royalty in the far out of the way land she came from. Having fled, wishing to free herself of the inevitable responsibilities that would come to her in that position. She wanted to see the world and deep down, she knew she could not find happiness here. She would have to travel and search far and wide for it. And so she did, taking her prized heirloom blades and what provisions she needed to travel.
Some call her a paladin, others believe her to be a seer or a mystic. In truth, She is both and neither. Trained from childhood as a swordswoman. Skilled in the use of their family swords but never really intended to make use of them. Such training was standard in her society. All elves are taught "the basics" of sword play. Shalya eventually grew to be a fine duelist, showing aptitudes in both the Diamond Mind and Desert Wind styles of fighting.
Added to this paladin like image she carries about her is her unyielding faith in Bahamut and her devotion to the greater good. Shalya will often push herself to her near physical limit when facing beings and concepts that oppose her ideals or simply to aid one she cares for.
As time went by and challenges appeared upon her path. She began to realize that the fate she'd so desperately been running away from would be the one that she would embrace in Avalon. In times of need, sacrifices must be made. Shalya gave up much of her personal freedom and set her emotions aside. Taking up the mantle of a warrior priestess of Bahamut. In perilous times, people search for heroes to look up. Brave souls that personify everything that is good in the world. It is Shalya's duty to find such souls and guide them and provide support these heroes.
When seen in the streets, she is usually cheerful and engaging. But often appears distant, as though gazing into infinity. Thoughts wandering beyond the understanding of the common folk. Some say she often speaks to herself when alone. Words whispered that often make little sense but are in fact all intertwined in her mind scape as she tends to catch glympses of events past, present and future. Sometimes it's just a method she uses to organize her thoughts however.
She currently inhabits the city of Avalon after a long voyage lasting at least a decade by her accounting. Having seen many places and spent a fair amount of time living a nomadic lifestyle, fighting demons and undead, chasing her own star. Finally, she believes to have found it within Avalon and has begun making plans to acquire a more permanent residence within the city.
